As a victim of the district budget cuts before things really went bad, Steven Sneed has already proven himself to be just as effective in intervention as an independent filmmaker as he was on the clock for PUSD, if not more. Though technically unemployed, he continues to work and dedicate himself towards helping young people make better decisions and preparing them for success in all areas of their lives.
Not wanting to give anything away, but with over 30 interviews of local residents and service-providers who have been greatly impacted by gang violence right here in the world-famous city of Pasadena, this film will definitely become a valuable tool for addressing the issue and creating a productive dialog. Former PUSD Intervention Specialist, Steven Sneed, wraps up the filming phase and moves on to post-production with "PASADENA: Exploring Solutions To Reduce Gang Violence". Stil, on schedule for a major summer release, the hard work continues with fundraising, marketing, and a truckload of editing.
Sneed, born and raised in Pasadena, has a very special connection to this project. He has not only lost quite a few childhood friends to senseless violence, but he has also witnessed some tragic endings to the lives of some of the neighborhood children he has serviced as an employee of the Pasadena Unified School District and Hathaway-Sycamores.
