At MADE IN DENA, our mission has always been to uplift the Pasadena community and inspire the next generation of creators, thinkers, and leaders. That mission continues with the release of MY FIRST HUSTLE: From a Boy to a Boss, a children's book written and illustrated by MADE IN DENA's founder, Jason Hardin.
MY FIRST HUSTLE tells the inspiring story of Jojo, a young boy with big dreams of turning his creativity into a thriving business. With grit, determination, and teamwork with his sister Deedee, Jojo’s journey offers valuable lessons on entrepreneurship, problem-solving, and turning obstacles into opportunities. This book is a tool to spark conversations with young readers about hard work, setting goals, and dreaming big. Whether you're a parent or an educator, MY FIRST HUSTLE can serve as an engaging way to introduce these important life skills.
This project is more than just a book—it’s an extension of what MADE IN DENA has always stood for: community, creativity, and hustle. Jason has been actively involved in hosting T-shirt design workshops for youth and adults across Pasadena, helping kids and families explore creativity through hands-on learning. His workshops, including those hosted at the Boys & Girls Club of Pasadena (check out one event here), are a reflection of his commitment to empowering others.
Now, Jason brings that same passion to children's literature with MY FIRST HUSTLE. The book is designed to inspire kids to turn their passions into possibilities, much like his workshops do for the Pasadena community.
If you’d like to support this project and help empower young minds, orders for paperback copies of MY FIRST HUSTLE are now available on madeindena.com. You can also find the eBook & paperback versions on Amazon here.
